Mimic Condition Monitoring Software

Mimic provides the vision to eliminate unscheduled breakdowns, reduce maintenance costs and increase your operational capability.

Existing condition monitoring regimes tend to rely on operators using their experience to identify issues; a process that often results in problems being identified at too late a stage. The requirement for on-line condition monitoring systems is becoming evermore apparent as maintenance costs increase and production capacity and equipment performance is maximised.

While temperature, pressure and vibration sensors all have their part to play in a condition monitoring package; regular and consistent monitoring of vibration signature, motor current and oil condition provide greater insight into the actual status of vital machinery and equipment. Online condition monitoring systems provide the convenience of not having to walk around the entire plant collecting data from a multitude of sensor points on machinery. They also deliver considerable data quality and health and safety benefits. Thanks to this evolution of monitoring systems, maintenance and operation personnel can concentrate their activity on other, higher added value, tasks.

Used as part of a predictive maintenance program, online condition monitoring systems will provide increased convenience, reduce lost production and lower the overall cost of maintenance. It also enables maintenance engineers to collect essential machine operating data more cost-effectively, efficiently and in greater frequency that monitoring with a portable instrument. Other advantages include peace of mind, knowing that machines are being monitored 24/7, and the ability to have anywhere, anytime access to operating data.

Technical Information: The Mimic 2006 Online monitoring system uses pressure, temperature, load, speed and other process data transducers along with vibration, inline oil analysis, inline fluid particle counters and motor current monitoring devices, The MIMIC 2006 On-line monitoring system also provides the associated control panels, junction boxes and transducer cabling.

The node features 16 individual ICP accelerometer supplies, as well as AC/DC coupling options. Four programmable HP filters and hardware integrator are incorporated, as well as full anti-aliasing filters. The node communicates via a standard 10BaseT ethernet interface and supports UDP/IP and TCP/IP protocols.
